2Communications worked with Foundation Business Software to develop a fully working Online Stock Ordering solution in just over a month, using FileMaker Server's PHP API. In their own words, the system "runs like a dream and is used by over 65% of clients after just 4 months operation."

Managed by Kathryn and Jon Dunn, 2Communications describe themselves as "New Zealand's best-kept secret for marketers and their agencies". Their highly experienced team seamlessly handles the design, production and nationwide delivery of a wide range of marketing promotions and materials for major New Zealand based clients such as Avis, Budget Rent a Car and STA Travel.

Kathryn explains that they have been using FileMaker since 2006 to help them manage job production and client stock in the warehouse. "Until recently we produced paper and PDF catalogues for our clients who then manually completed fax order forms." she said. "At our office, all the details would then have to be re-keyed from the faxes into FileMaker before processing the orders." says Fleur Dixon, 2Communications Office Manager. A very time consuming business when dealing with almost 200 client branches nationwide.

When consultant and developer Chris Stapleton from Foundation Business Software initially met with the team at 2Communications the brief was straightforward - build a web interface to their current FileMaker solution enabling clients to order marketing promotions and materials online and keep it simple. He says "What might have sounded difficult for any other application was easy with FileMaker" and "At the end of our first meeting I was able to give them a ball park figure for the development costs".

A little over a month later and 2Communications had a fully working Online Stock Ordering solution branded for each of their clients. "Using FileMaker Server's PHP API we were able to quickly put together a solution using web technologies for easy, secure access by their key clients and branches around New Zealand." said Chris. The solution, hosted internally, "runs like a dream and is used by over 65% of clients after just 4 months" says Fleur.
